Gilda D’Incerti is an Italian manager and entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of PQE Group. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in life-sciences consulting.
Academic education and specialisations
After graduating in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Milan, Gilda D’Incerti specialised in Operations Research (Statistics and Information Technology) at the same university in 1978. She further developed her academic background in 1987 by obtaining an English Proficiency Certificate in Management Science from McGill University, followed by a master's programme at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona.[1]
Gilda D’Incerti's early experience in IT
Her career began in the late 1970s at Siemens as assistant to the Scientific Support Service Manager. She then consolidated her experience in IT and financial analysis at Rizzoli Corriere della Sera MediaGroup S.p.A. and at the Canadian company Edicon. In the 1990s she moved to Spain to serve as IT Manager at Laboratorios Menarini in Barcelona, where she coordinated production systems and clinical-research databases, while also working on quality management and control applied to pharmaceutical information systems.[2]
The founding and development of PQE Group
After working as a Project Manager at FJ Systems and as Operations Manager at Motherwell Information Systems, Gilda D’Incerti joined PQE Group in 1998 as Partner and Operations Manager. In January 2003, she took charge of the company as CEO and founder, launching an expansion plan that transformed the Florence-based business into a multinational consulting group serving the life-sciences sector.[1][3]
Activities at the helm of PQE Group
Under her leadership, PQE Group grew steadily to employ more than 2,000 professionals across several continents. The company specialises in providing integrated quality services, including computerised-system validation and the qualification of infrastructure and process-control systems, supporting pharmaceutical companies throughout the product life cycle, from molecular synthesis to distribution. In January 2021, D’Incerti also joined the Forbes Business Council as an official member.[4]
ESG policies and corporate social responsibility
Alongside her management activities, Gilda D’Incerti promoted the integration of environmental, social and governance policies into PQE Group's business model. This approach also includes support for social initiatives, including cooperation with the Italian NGO COSPE on social justice, the “Adopt a Student” scholarship programme with the University of São Paulo in Brazil, and projects promoting women's access to education in Afghanistan.[1]
